Accessibility statement Bel V

Bel V aims to make its website accessible and usable by everyone as much as possible, including visitors with motor, visual or hearing impairments.

This accessibility statement applies to the Bel V website: https://www.belv.be/en/

Compliance status

This website (https://www.belv.be/en/) partially complies with the Act of 19 July 2018 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public organisations and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1. The partial compliance can be justified by the exemption ground on which Bel V can rely. Indeed, it would impose a disproportionate burden on Bel V if it had to bring the website into full compliance with the legal requirements.

An external accessibility audit has already been carried out (a so-called “simplified analysis”), the report of which you can access here:               https://scan.accessibility.belgium.be/nl/report/2023/www.belv.be.

Nevertheless, we would like to inform you, the visitor, about the website elements that are not (fully) accessible:

For example, the following elements of the website do not meet legal requirements:

  • Most images, icons and graphics do not have a correct alternative description (display in text).
  • The information on the website is not transmitted correctly to assistive software and is not fully compatible with assistive software (e.g. a pre-reading software or voice control programme) which could cause assistive software users to misunderstand the content.
  • The contrast ratio between the text colour and background colour does not meet the minimum requirements. The user cannot choose or adjust the foreground and background colours of the text blocks on the website.
  • Not all parts of the website are fully accessible using only keyboard controls.

Below, we list some elements that can help you facilitate website accessibility:

  • Enlarging letters: you can enlarge the font size of this website yourself via the built-in function in your browser. We have ensured that the layout of the website pages adapts automatically.
  • Accessibility of documents: we aim to provide all documents as accessible PDFs. If you should still experience problems reading an electronic document, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@belv.be.
